Brno hosted the final round of EBEC 2017 — Europe’s biggest engineering competition.

More than one hundred tech students from all over Europe descended on Brno in early August. Their mission was to find creative solutions for engineering tasks and compete for the coveted title of “European Champions of Technology”.

“Move the picture!” was the captivating theme of the 17th Film Festival to be held at Masaryk University.

17th Annual Film Festival on the 17th of May: how auspicious.

This annual event is something to behold. Hundreds of people gather each year at the Faculty of Informatics to watch the best short films produced by students of the university. Two theatres screen movies at the same time and they cover every genre you can imagine.

This week, we announced the winners of our Travelling Salesman Competition. Of nearly 800 contestants, we couldn’t have found a more deserving winner than Petr Lavička.

Years ago, Petr promised his parents that he would take them to some dreamy faraway destination like Hawaii. He has now delivered on that promise.

Kiwi.com Data Challenge

We organised a public data challenge competition to create a flight delays algorithm based on the large, real Kiwi.com historical dataset.

79 teams applied, and 17 teams were invited for the Award Ceremony.

On Wednesday, 26 October at 18:00 in the Kiwi.com wine cellar, we rewarded the 3 teams that created the best prediction algorithms with Kiwi.com vouchers worth 2,000 EUR.
